I had a gastric bypass RNY on 9th November 2019 at BMI Alexandra under the care of Professor Senapati. I had, up to being in my mid 40s always been of fairly average build of a size 14.
Professor Senapati was most approachable and put me at ease even from my first consultation.

But 2 of the best life choices I've made was to have surgery & to choose Prof Senapati as my surgeon
So I started to do some research & finally came to decide to see Prof Senapati. I met him along with his bariatric nurses. He has a wonderful, fabulous team around him, the nurses, dieticians, physio & I'm sure many others in the background. He asked me how much weight I wanted to lose. It was never about weight for me, it was about losing the bulk.
Prof. Senapati explained every detail to me and was so helpful, friendly and made me feel totally at ease.

Lovely Professor did my surgery
This lovely Professor did my surgery a week ago. He understood me and listened to me. I had been fed a load of nonsense from another surgeon and the Professor explained to me in gentle terms how what I had been told was wrong. After surgery he visited me both days and would have come more if I needed him. I want to mention the outstanding nursing care I received at BMI Alexandra too. A fabulous experience with a very experienced surgeon and nursing staff.
Professor Senapati and his team has been outstanding
Almost 6 months post bypass, lost 6 1/2 stone already!! I no longer wake up with agonising back pain, I have so much more energy. Not only has this saved my life it's been a massive change for the better for my family.
